City of Duarte Partners with The Retail Coach to Expand Retail Recruitment Efforts

DUARTE, Calif. — The City of Duarte has selected The Retail Coach, a national retail recruitment and development consulting firm, to help attract new shopping, dining and entertainment options to the community.

The partnership will combine market research with direct outreach to retailers, restaurants, entertainment concepts, brokers and developers. The Retail Coach will analyze Duarte’s trade area, consumer activity, shopping patterns and areas of retail demand, but the firm’s primary focus will be recruiting concepts that are currently missing from the market.

“We are excited to partner with the City of Duarte and build upon the strong retail mix and momentum created by ongoing redevelopment efforts,” said Charles Parker, Vice President of The Retail Coach. “Duarte benefits from a strong location, an established customer base and access to a much larger regional market. We look forward to helping the City tell that story to prospective businesses and attract concepts that are a good fit for the community.”

The Retail Coach will also work directly with industry decision-makers to better understand how Duarte is viewed as a potential location and what factors may have prevented certain brands from entering the market.

“We will leverage the relationships we have built over the past 26 years to better understand why certain brands have not yet located in Duarte and gather direct feedback on what it would take for them to consider the community,” Parker said. “That feedback will help us identify potential barriers, position Duarte more effectively and focus our recruitment efforts on concepts that represent realistic opportunities for the city.”
