YUMA COUNTY, CO — [August 18, 2025] — The Retail Coach, a national consulting firm

specializing in retail recruitment for municipalities, announced today that its partnership with the Yuma County Economic Development Corporation (YCEDC) has successfully brought a new retail opportunity to the region. Bomgaars, a leading farm and ranch retail chain, has purchased property in Wray and plans to open a new store in the community this fall.


This development is a direct result of the retail recruitment initiative launched in November 2024, when YCEDC partnered with The Retail Coach to recruit retail, restaurant, and hospitality businesses to Yuma County.


As part of their outreach, The Retail Coach conducted comprehensive research and analysis on consumers within the Yuma County trade area. Using detailed demographic and market data, the firm identified retailers best suited for the community and presented the findings to key prospects. Bomgaars, initially hesitant about entering the market, reconsidered after The Retail Coach and YCEDC proactively engaged with them, providing compelling data and leveraging strong industry relationships.
